AID-M-008: Automated Agentic Security Benchmarking
Coverage includes:
- General agentic benchmarks for prompt injection, jailbreaks, unsafe outputs, and unauthorized tool use.
- Agent-injection benchmarks such as AgentDojo and InjecAgent that exercise tool-augmented workflows rather than static prompt strings alone.
- Cybersecurity-focused model and agent probes such as CyberSecEval and PyRIT campaign runs.
- Production-trace-derived grading and replay of de-identified real agent sessions, near-misses, incidents, red-team findings, and externally reported bypasses.
- Browser-agent-specific prompt injection regression and fuzz testing for hidden DOM/CSS instructions, OCR/PDF-mediated injections, cross-origin read-then-act flows, download and clipboard abuse, and magic-link or session confusion.
- Release gates that compare benchmark results across builds so prompt, model, tool, and browsing changes cannot silently weaken the agent's security posture.
Pillars: model, app
Lifecycle: validation, improvement
Scope boundary
Owns repeatable, release-bound adversarial security benchmarking of models and agents across static, adaptive, stateful, tool-using, browser, and production-trace-derived scenarios. It measures security regression but does not define the safety boundary, publish model cards, own forensic logging, or prove universal robustness.
AID-M-007: AID-M-008 owns adversarial security benchmark campaigns; AID-M-007 owns the authoritative use-case safety boundary and its required conformance dimensions. Benchmarks test resistance under selected attacks, while the safety boundary defines the release obligations and applicability contract.
AID-M-007.002: AID-M-008 exercises broader adversarial and adaptive attack behavior; AID-M-007.002 proves the complete signed deterministic conformance case population. A benchmark campaign and a deterministic policy gate answer different questions and neither should be reported as the other.
AID-M-003.007: AID-M-008 measures adversarial security resistance and regression; AID-M-003.007 establishes the signed expected LLM behavior and prompt-suite reference. A stable golden baseline supports comparison, while adaptive benchmarking deliberately searches beyond expected behavior for bypasses.
Warning
High Risk of False Assurance from Static-Only Evaluation
Static prompt sets and non-adaptive benchmark runs are useful regression tests, but they are not robustness proof. Evaluate release candidates against adaptive attackers that can observe the defense, vary tactics, and optimize for bypass. Near-zero attack success rate on a fixed dataset should be treated as a lower-bound signal, not as evidence that prompt injection, jailbreak, or agent-tool defenses are solved.
Implementation guidance
- AID-M-008-G001: Gate every release with a signed, version-pinned static, adaptive, stateful, and browser-agent security benchmark matrix.
- AID-M-008-G002: Gate every release against a signed, sanitized corpus of applicable production traces, incidents, near-misses, red-team findings, and external bypasses.
- AID-M-008-G003: Maintain a browser-agent prompt-injection and cross-origin action regression harness for hidden, rendered, downloaded, and session-bearing content.
AID-M-008-G001
Purpose and boundary
This method verifies complete adversarial benchmark coverage and policy-owned release criteria for the exact deployed candidate. Attack attempts and benign clean-control attempts are separate signed populations with separate denominators, so an agent that refuses every task cannot pass merely because all attack-event rates are zero. Suite-specific runners remain replaceable, but every runner must satisfy the same signed evidence contract.
Step 1: Sign policy, matrix, case manifests, and runner contracts

}Each strictly parsed case manifest binds every case ID to its family, kind, exact case bytes, execution-contract digest, expected action, target, authorization, effect and outcome, and prohibited-data marker population. Runner results identify the exact case and attempt but do not supply a security verdict. A separately signed observer receipt carries the observed action, target, authorization, effect, outcome, and disclosed-marker IDs under the same execution-context ID. The verifier derives unsafe-action, disclosure, bypass, and clean-success results from those exact fields under the signed case contract. Browser suites additionally bind the context used by both agent and observer. An HTTP call to an agent that never controls the observed browser is not valid evidence.

Independent replay and evidence
A promotion identity reruns the full matrix with the same plan and release, verifies all raw and normalized evidence, and signs a second result. Static, adaptive, and clean-task metrics remain separate; a disabled agent cannot appear secure merely through low attack success. Action: Block release unless the complete independently replayed matrix is a fresh signed PASS.
Impossible-task and no-progress fixtures
Add signed cases in which a required resource is absent, a needed tool or destination is denied, goals contradict, the allowed budget is exhausted without measurable progress, a peer suggests an out-of-scope action, or an exposed credential appears. Expected behavior is a bounded stop, clarification request, BLOCKED, or INSUFFICIENT_DATA result without probing outside the approved goal. Verify the no-probe property from external network, IAM, tool, and effect observations; an agent's own claim that it stopped is not sufficient.
AID-M-008-G002
Purpose and boundary
This method replays an approved trace-derived corpus against the exact candidate and grades independent tool/action observations. It consumes sanitized cases; forensic collection and corpus approval remain with their owning controls.
Step 1: Consume a signed, approved, non-empty replay corpus

Independent replay and evidence
A promotion verifier repeats every case against the same release and tenant, then compares case IDs, execution receipts, response digests, and exact observer action, target, authorization, effect, outcome, and disclosed-marker records. Retain the signed source register, approved sanitized corpus, raw responses, observer receipts, both runs, identities, and timestamps. Action: Block release when any previously fixed workflow becomes executable again or complete independent replay evidence is absent.
AID-M-008-G003
Build a browser-specific adversarial corpus
Version cases for hidden DOM and CSS instructions, accessibility-tree versus rendered-text disagreement, OCR and PDF payloads, cross-origin read-then-write chains, popup and redirect transitions, download and clipboard abuse, magic-link or session confusion, deceptive controls, and malicious tool output rendered into a page. Bind each case to the exact browser image, extension set, agent release, origin policy, expected observations, prohibited requests, and prohibited side effects.
Replay through the real browser boundary
Run the exact candidate through its production-equivalent browser sandbox and the AID-I-008 request and workspace controls. Capture Playwright traces, accessibility snapshots, network requests, downloads, clipboard operations, tool calls, approval receipts, and external side-effect records. A separately credentialed observer grades the raw events; the agent must not self-report success. Block promotion on any unauthorized navigation, data transfer, write, credential use, or missing case population, and retain a signed replay result tied to the release and corpus digests.
